Here you will become something only legends tell of in this boring modern world: A GIRL!
Solve GIRL PUZZLES, fight BOY DEMONS, and most importantly - OBTAIN GIRL POWER!

With nothing but a sharp wit and the even sharper edge of your trusty GIRL BLADE you must overcome the challenges that GIRL MOUNTAIN has provided for you.

Will you obtain the legendary AZURE STONES OF HR'T and slay MANSORO GUYSMIER or will you meet a grisly GIRL FATE? Only the skill of your GIRL HANDS at your GIRL KEYBOARD can tell!

A NOTE FOR CERTAIN KINDS OF PEOPLE:

This is a game made for the Trans Representation Jam. Certain trans men might wish to skip on this game due to the core joke of the game being 'Girls fight Boys (who are evil in nature)'. Obviously it's just an unserious gag but like, I get it, I've gotten weird dysphoria for things like that in the past, so if that sounds miserable for a whole game consider not playing. it's fine.

CONTROLS AND HINTS:

If you've never played a ZZT game before, here are some important things to consider.

Before you can start the game, I recommend pressing 'K' for Keyboard controls and 'C' for color (it would be weird if your monitor was in black and white...)

On the title screen, press 'P' to begin play!
If you've already saved your game earlier and wish to restore your game, press 'R' to load your previous save.

While in the game world use the Arrow Keys to move your character.
Once you've acquired a suitable GIRL WEAPON and have the required GIRL POWER to use it, hold Shift then press an Arrow Key in the direction you'd like to fire your GIRL ENERGY. You can also press Space to fire in the direction you last moved.

The right of your screen displays stats which are important on your journey. Most are self explanatory but I will explain them anyways for posterity's sake.
'Health' goes down when you are hit and goes up when you collect health items or gems, the game ends when you reach 0 health.
'Ammo' (or, GIRL POWER) is the amount of shots you can fire from your weapon. If this runs out, you are defenseless (and potentially stuck if you're required to shoot a breakable wall!) but if you're resourceful this shouldn't be an issue.
'Torches' is the amount of torches you own. Press 'T' to light one, but only in dark areas (see below).
'Gems' is the amount of GIRL MOUNTAIN's local currency you have. Special characters might ask for an amount of gems in exchange for an item or resources.
'Score' is your rating from how well you've done in the game. If you're the kind of person to care, post your highest score in the comments please.
'Keys' are the different colors of key you own, good for opening locked doors of the same kind. Do note that you can only have one key of a color at a time!


Also on the right displays keybinds for certain actions.

T - If you have one or more torches, this will light one and allow you to see in a radius around you in the dark areas of the GIRL MOUNTAIN.
B - Mutes or unmutes the game.
H - Displays the generic ZZT Help file, which can be referenced if you please.
S - Opens a prompt allowing you to type a name for a save file you'd like to make, which you can reload later. If you die, you will be going back to your last save, and there is no autosaving, so save often!
P - Pauses the game. WARNING! The game will only unpause if you are able to move your character, which you cannot do in specific abnormal circumstances. As far as I'm aware there's no way to lock yourself this way in the game but you can never be entirely sure, so please keep this in mind.
Q - Quits the game. Self explanatory.

Items:

There are many invaluable GIRL ITEMS you can find along your journey. Here is a list of them and what they might do:

CYAN GIRL GEM - Grants 1 Gem and 1 Health.
GOLDEN GIRL GEM - Grants 600 Score.
GIRL HEART - Grants 20 Health.
GIRL ARTIFACT - Grants 5 GIRL POWER. Looks like a dark cyan 'a' with two dots over it.
GIRL SCROLL - Imparts ancient GIRL WISDOM.
GIRL TRIANGLE - Ultimate GIRL ARTIFACT. Will render you invincible for a short time.
GIRL KEY - Used to unlock GIRL DOORS of the same color. Again, do note you can only have one copy of a given color GIRL KEY at a time!
GIRL TORCH - Single-use torch for dark areas. Use with T.
AZURE STONES OF HR'T - ???

Secrets:

Alas, if it were easy to be a GIRL CHAMPION, everyone would be. It is true that sometimes even veteran GIRL HEROES face strife they are incapable of dealing with on their own.
Should you find yourself stuck between a rock and a BOY PLACE you may want to consider holding Shift and pressing '?' to make a prayer to the GIRL GOD. Here are the various amenities you can wish for. Please use sparingly and with caution! You should only need this if you are truly stuck!

'HEALTH' - You will be granted 50 Health as a second wind.
'AMMO' - You will be revitalized and given 5 GIRL POWER.
'GEMS' - You will be showered in 5 Gems for your efforts.
'TORCHES' - You will find 3 Torches to light your way.
'-DARK' - If you are well and truly lost, your surroundings will be illuminated.
'ZAP' - You will shatter any wall or door that might attempt to block you.

Finally, if you still believe you are stuck or are unsure if you really require a prayer to progress, consider these:

• You can travel to other screens by walking past the edge of the one you're currently on. Try walking past the edge of the screen.
• Interact with things! It should be relatively simple to find what it is you need to touch or shoot in order to progress but in the case that it isn't, try moving into objects of note or shooting suspicious walls.
